78% Recycled Polyamide, 22% Elastane
Made in Turkey
The fabric used to make this UV shirt is made of 78 % recycled polyamide, which has been manufactured by using mostly residual fishnets, old carpets and production waste. Over 600 000 metric tons of fishnets end up in the world’s oceans each year and everything from dolphins to seals and smaller fish get caught in these abandoned nets. The nets drift with the strong currents and scrape the bottom surface, destroying the coral reefs of the oceans. These reefs are essential to the survival and the health of both the world’s oceans and human beings. This sustainable UV shirt is therefore part of the process that helps clean up the world’s oceans.
Mini Rodini is a Swedish children’s wear brand that was founded in 2006 by illustrator Cassandra Rhodin as a tribute to all children, their imagination and sense that everything is possible. Mini Rodini takes children seriously with playfulness, meaning it is important that children too have clothes that match their own personality, mood and creativity.
Mini Rodini's vision has always been to make it both easy and exciting for parents to buy better products for their kids in regards to the design as well as environmental and ethical aspects of the production. And while the playful and humorous aesthetics may speak directly to the children, the quality of the products is equally important. A Mini Rodini garment is not only fun to wear or just look at, but is also produced in a way that is kinder to the environment and the people behind it.
At Mini Rodini, they want what they do to matter. They take their ethical and sustainable commitment .very seriously and it will always be the most important factor in Mini Rodini’s growth. It’s not just about getting better at what they do, but wanting the very best and a better world. This commitment affects decision-making at all levels in their organisation, as it is an on-going process that demands an innovative approach to their whole business long-term.
